Dr. Ram Krishana Tandon retired from the University of Allahabad in 2010, where he served for 40 years in the Department of Defence & Strategic Studies. He received his education at Allahabad University, and at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). He holds an M.A. (Defence Studies) and M.A. (Med. History), B.Ed, and a D.Phil from Allahabad University. He has also done an Advanced Cartography course from the Survey of India. He taught at Allahabad University and University of Madras. Has 04 books, and 04 monographs to his credit, on the academic side. Has been the Principal Investigator of the UGC Major Research Project. His academic research papers have been published in both India and overseas. His research interests are Ancient Indian, and Chinese Military Thought; Maratha History; South Asian Studies; and Geo-Politics.
Photography (especially of the Nature, & Monuments) has long been his passion, which saw a revival post his retirement. In last decade he has organized 09 Photo exhibitions. The NCZCC (under the Ministry of Culture, GOI) has published his last two Photo based books – i.e “Prayag ke Prachin Mandir: Ek Dharohar” in 2017; and “Bundela Art & Architecture: Orchha, Dhubela, and Panna” in 2020. A third book titled “Kashi ke Kund” is in press. He has also collaborated in Cataloguing the ‘Arms & Armour’ Collection of the Allahabad Museum in 2015. He also has been actively involved with the Tagore Public School, Allahabad and the Society for Peace, Security & Development Studies, Allahabad for the last 25 Years.
